On St John's Street, St John's Church was designed by the well known architect
Anthony Salvin and completed in 1838.
St John's main claim to fame is as the resting place of the author and playwright
Sir Hugh Walpole, An occasional resident of
the Keswick area, he was buried here in 1941.
