Fells & Mountains in Cumbria

Welcome to the EDGE Guide to the fells and mountains of Cumbria and the Lake District.

The fells and mountains of the Lake District and Cumbria.

The many fells range in difficulty from those that can be tackled by anyone of reasonable health and vigour to those that only the experienced climber should attempt.

It is important that you respect the fells. Weather conditions can change quickly and the inexperienced can find themselves in difficulty quite easily if they have not taken sensible precautions.

This is the most beautiful area in the whole of England and should be visited wherever you live. The sights are truly breathtaking.

Almost without exception there are paths over and around the fells and mountains.

The number of guide books available bears testament to the fact that this is some of the best walking and hiking country in the world.

Because there are so many tremendous walks and so many good and informative guide books on these fells and mountains we do not attempt here to give more than the briefest details: the photographs will speak for themselves.
