Hardwicke Circus, Carlisle.
From within Hardwicke Circus. The monument is dedicated to James Robert Creighton
Mayor of Carlisle in 1880/1 and again in 1889/90. The large ugly building behind is the Civic Centre.
It is the most unpopular building in Carlisle due to it's appalling design - however it has been mentioned
as a candidate for listing by English Heritage! It is an excellent example of its type of design apparently.
It should be demolished at the soonest opportunity.
